High School BLIPS: Berkeley Lab Internships for Precollegiate Scholars
Preparing for your internship
- Arrange for your daily transportation to and from LBNL.
- Plan to either bring or buy your lunch each day.
- Participation is expected Monday through Friday, from approximately
____ am to ____ pm - Contact your mentor and/or view your assigned Division page prior to your first day.
Transportation/ Parking
Parents or guardians are permitted to drop you off in LBNL on the first day only. No parking onsite.
You will take public transportation after the first day.
Your first two days

To attend you must bring with you all of the following:
- Government-issued ID, such as: Driver’s license, Passport, CA ID. School ID is not sufficient.
- Permanent Resi-dency Status (if applicable)
- Proof of medical insurance
- Your offer letter
Calendar
The BLIPS calendar will be posted here in May 2009. Prior to that, this link will take you to a sample calendar of BLIPS dates and events.
Assignments / Deliverables
Your day-to-day work will be assigned by your mentor. Your mentor may include additional deliverables as part of your internship.
These BLIPS deliverables must be completed before you can receive mid-program stipend checks.
- A one-paragraph biography
- A one-paragraph abstract of your project
- Lecture attendance
- A PowerPoint and presentation
End of Program Checkout Process
Upon turning in your LBNL badge and completing your deliverables and assignments, you will receive your final stipend check on August 7, 2009.
